AR-NE invites you to join us for a picnic at Lilac Sunday at Arnold Arboretum

Of the thousands of flowering plants in the Arboretum, only one, the lilac, is singled out each year for a daylong celebration. With more than 399 lilac plants of 177 kinds, the Arboretum holds one of the premier lilac collections in North America. Tours of the lilacs, family activities, food vendors, and picnicking (on this special day only) make for a memorable day.  We challenge you to discover the lilac called “Lilac Sunday” introduced in 1997, a spectacular plant that can produce clusters of flowers more than two feet long!

We dedicate all the lilac flowers to our Mothers!

Be a part of this beloved Boston 112 years old tradition!
